What Our Students Say ...

Andrew

Ixchel was very welcoming and the perfect way to settle into Antigua. Although two weeks is too short, it has been a great introduction to Spanish. I would recommend Ixchel to anyone wanting to learn Spanish, explore Antigua and learn about Guatemalan culture. I can't wait to come back!

Carrie

I had a very good experience at Ixchel Spanish School. My teacher Isabel was excellent! I only attended for 2 weeks, but I learned enough to have simple conversations in Spanish and to ask common questions and to understand the answers. The program was flexible but well organized. I appreciated the focus on grammar and vocabulary.

Accommodation Options for Spanish Students in Antigua Guatemala:

Hotels

As one of Guatemala's most popular tourist destinations, Antigua is well prepared for international visitors. No matter what your taste and budget, a suitable hotel or B&B won't be far away.

Hotel accommodations range from plain dorms for just a few dollars a night to the most luxurious suites in five-star hotels for US$300+ a night. For a comfortable room in a nice hotel you'll need to budget at least US$20-30 a night.

While we believe that a family homestay is the best option for students participating in our Spanish courses, we realize of course that living with a local family is not for everyone. If you think that you'd be more comfortable staying at a hotel, we'll be happy to help you find the right place. We can also make a reservation on your behalf, but advance payments or deposits, if required to secure your reservation, will be your responsibility.

During the high season (Christmas - New Year, Easter week, and June thru August) suitable accommodations may be hard to come by since many hotels are booked out months - sometimes up to a year - in advance. We recommend therefore that you make your arrangements as early as practical if you plan to travel at peak times.
