Spanish Immersion Courses in Antigua Guatemala:

Volunteer Work Opportunities

Students who study Spanish in Antigua often decide to work as volunteers for a few hours a day to help make life a little bit better for Guatemala's poor and disadvantaged. At the Ixchel Spanish School, we believe that supporting our community is very important and therefore do our best to connect students with volunteer organization that are looking for their skills.

Volunteer work opportunities are numerous in and around Antigua and we have information about more than 50 projects from which we'll help you choose the right one according to your interests and skills. Available projects range from helping in hospitals and orphanages to working as assistant teachers in a local school, from construction work to reforestation projects.

For groups we can also organize their own volunteer projects in cooperation with local communities.

Volunteer work

Volunteers are always needed to help out in hospitals and orphanages.

Supporting a rural school

We also support a school in an indigenous village near Antigua, donating books, notebooks, pens and other class materials.
