Below you’ll find the terms and conditions of our classes. Please read before signing up. 

In-person Classes 

Student Conduct

  • All students are required to attend booked classes, if there are any changes, please notify the school directly by e-mail at least 5 days in advance.

Course Payment And Signing Up

  • Unless mentioned or agreed otherwise, course fees must be fully paid on the first day of the course
  • Long-stay discounts are applicable when the weeks are booked and paid for in advance. 
  • When making a payment by bank transfer, the student must pay the total of fees charged by the bank.
  • When the student choses to pay by debit / credit card or Paypal a surcharge might apply, to be paid by the student.

Course and Extracurricular Activities 

  • All comments, claims, schedule changes, etc. should be made directly to the school coordinators at the front office or via email, not to the teachers.
  • If the student cannot attend their planned classes, the school must be informed at least 24 hours ahead in order to be able to reschedule them (we might make an exception in case of an emergency).
  • Ixchel Spanish School is open year round. We are only closed on a handful of major holidays: New Year’s Day (1 January), Good Friday,  Independence Day (15 September), All Saints’ Day (1 November), Christmas Day (25 December), you can take extra hours on other days to complete the program or study on Saturday or Sunday. 
  • The school may agree to booking amendments (change of dates, duration, type of course or accommodation etc.) requested by the student depending on the availability. 
  • The cost of extracurricular activities and excursions are not included in the course price. 
  • General information about the extracurricular activities and excursions offered by the school will be given on the first day of the course. Not all activities listed on our website are available every week, though. The school reserves the right to amend the program of activities.     

Accommodation

  • A week is 7 consecutive days and nights, e.g. Saturday through Saturday, or Wednesday through Wednesday. Extra days can be added at the beginning or end of your stay as required to fit your itinerary.
  • The student is obliged to follow the accommodation rules provided by the school and/or the landlord/landlady.
  • The optional meal plan includes breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. No meals are provided on Saturday night, Sunday and national holidays.
  • Where possible, special dietary requirements will be taken into account. Availability and applicable rates will be confirmed upon request.
  • Students will be provided with keys, and in case of loss or theft, they will be responsible for covering their costs. 
  • Other people who are not registered are not allowed to enter the rooms. 

Airport pick-up Service

  • The student has to provide the school with the flight number and arrival time at least 5 days before the student is due to arrive.
  •  The school will not be responsible for airport pick-ups or refunds in the event of delay or changes in flight information where sufficient notification is not provided.

Cancellation Policies

  • Cancellations are not possible once the course has started. No refund shall be given after the day the course is due to start. However, we can issue a voucher (50% of the total) to you with a validity of 1 year to be used to attend a future course or take online classes
  • The amount paid for accommodation is not refundable. 
  • If a student pays the total of the course in advance before the arrival: 
  • Students who cancel their reservation 30 days or more prior to the course start date will receive a 50% refund.
  • Students who cancel their reservation 15 days or less before the course start date will receive a 25% refund.

Online Classes

  • All students are required to attend booked classes, if there are any changes, please notify the school and/or the teacher assigned at least 24 hours in advance. 

Payment

  • The chosen class package must be fully paid before taking/scheduling the first lesson. 
  • Once the payment is completed, students will receive a confirmation email in less than 72 hours from the school and the teacher assigned to schedule the lessons. 

Course Basics

  • We offer lessons of 30 or 50 minutes. 
  • The schedule and content are flexible. A personalized program will be elaborated according to the student’s request.
  • If the student is delayed, any lost time will not be compensated. If the delay is greater than 25 minutes, the teacher is not obliged to wait, and the class will be canceled.
  • Lessons you cannot take as planned can be rescheduled free of charge with 24 hours of advance notice.
  • Unless agreed otherwise, packages cannot be transferred to other people.
  • Unless agreed otherwise, packages cannot be shared with other people. 
  • Students are not allowed to take pictures or record videos during the lessons without informing the teacher or the school.

Package Expiration

  • The packages have the following expiration dates:

Cancellation policies

  • Lessons that are canceled with less than 24 hours of advance notice cannot be made up and we cannot give you a refund. We might make an exception in case of an emergency though, and of course, we will reschedule the lesson free of charge if it cannot take place because of technical problems on our side.
